REAL Revival...What does that look like?

I was recently very burdened by some video clips of the latest "revival". This blog is in no way here to bad mouth anyone. I do however know without a shadow of a doubt that my spirit was severely grieved with what I saw. (I WILL NOT post the video on my blog, but if you want to see the clip, please email me).

Anyway...I went home and I decided to listen to a sermon on my mp3 player. I had no idea what this message was about, but after 10 minutes I knew it was God's hand that led me to this exact message. He knew why I had a heaviness and directed me to the perfect message for the situation.

This is a great sermon...founded in scriptural truth...that is a must hear...especially with all of the talk about "outpourings" and "revivals" that is going around. We are commanded to test every spirit (1 John 1:4). We are NOT called to judge the man/woman, rather to test the spirit that is operating through them as to whether or not it is of God or the enemy.

Just listen to it...when you have about an hour. It IS definitely worth it...if for nothing else to prepare you for all of the false prophets that have been loosed in this hour.

The Devil's Secret Plan

I was recently sent an email with the following content. Messages like these are great because they shine the light on th plan of the enemy. If we pursue truth, holiness, and mostly...intimacy with Christ, these things will become obvious to us every day. It really is very sad that we, as a culture & society, have gotten so far off track for the life that God intended us to live.

SATAN'S MEETING:

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing
the truth."

"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate
relationship with their savior."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over
them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their
covered dish dinners,
BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a
relationship with Jesus Christ.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and
maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent
innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the
husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford
their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no
escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that
still, small voice."

"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever
they drive." To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in
their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays
non-biblical music constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."

"Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs,
sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free
products, services and false hopes.."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so
their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and
they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."

"Give them headaches too! "

"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they
will begin to look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their
children the real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his
resurrection and power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."

"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's
creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts,
and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them
in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no
time to seek power from Jesus."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength,
sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!"

"It will work!"

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing
Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to
change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in
his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!!

Do you know anyone in a hole?

This is a great video. Imagery is a powerful way to express our beautiful salvation. What is so different about Christianity? This is a pretty good way of explaining it. When all others tell you to DO something ritualistic or earn your way to heaven, Christianity is the one where God Himself DID it for us and all we have to DO is accept Him & love him back. What an amazing and loving God we have!

Do you still have a "Man Pleasing Spirit" keeping you from the fullness of God?

I was recently shown this video by my wife. We watched it together and then discussed it afterward. We both agreed that we want "that...what he has...freedom to praise Him". We want to be so free in Christ that we could praise Him anywhere...anytime.

If you don't already have this as a part of your recurring prayer terminology, please consider adding it...

----------------------
"Father...please take a 'man pleasing spirit' away from me...completely so that I can be free"
----------------------

What is it that keeps us from talking boldly about our God in a restaurant when we know others can here us?

Why do we change the station on the radio when a friend or co-worker that is not a Christian gets in our car.

Whatever it is for each and every one of us that prevents us from giving God His deserving recognition and praise openly in public places, needs to be addressed. Christ died so that we could be free from the cares and fears of this world.

I am sharing this burden because:
God has heard my prayers and he has, throught the power of the Holy Spirit, freed me from the majority of my "fear of man." On the other hand...there are still times when I know I should "cry out" to God and something in me chooses to refrain. I believe that there is still a "man pleasing spirit" operating in certain areas of my walk.

True freedom in Christ is the freedom from any fear of man. We have the right to be free from the fear of what anyone else thinks. The enemy is a master of instilling fear in our heart because he hates it when we openly praise our King! This is all the more reason to DO IT and put our powerless enemy in his place.

Apostle & Prophets...Are they for the modern church?

I wanted to share a link to a great article I came across today.

I know there are still a lot of arguments going on in some circles on the validity of whether or not Apostles & Prophets are for the modern day church.

If you click on the link below and take the time to read through this article, you will probably be pretty surprised by the content.

I found it to be a very strong approach being that it was all backed by scripture as well as some stunning insight into the priority of the "Five Fold Ministry" and how many times the different ministries were mentioned in the New Testament. Enjoy...

Here is a little teaser:

• The word “apostle(s)” occurs 85 times in the New Testament.
• The word “prophet(s)” occurs over 150 times in the New Testament, about 20 of those occurrences referring distinctly to prophets in the Church Age.
• The word “teacher(s)” occurs 125 times in the New Testament.

How many times do you think the words "evangelist" and "pastor" are mentioned? Read the article and be prepared to be shocked!
